According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Iraq War only cost $709 billion.

The Iraq War encompasses a surprisingly pretty small chunk of our total deficit.

The $3 billion includes “impact on the economy”. Gee, the economy was doing just fine until the phony mortgages went bust.

I’d love to see the casuistry that connects the Iraq war to the mortgage crisis.

Your right Max. Those are the direct costs. However, the article includes projected costs of Vets care and opportunity costs - the costs associated with things that weren’t done de to war expenditures.

I’m happy to take my lumps for comments I make in support or against certain ideas and polices or for making snark at the expense of reason. However, in this case i was passing along an article I found interesting. Interesting in that I hadn’t looked at the costs in from this perspective before. Sorry you found the passing of information so onerous you felt a need to ding me for it.
