Dear Stanley Sea,
On behalf of the Cordoba Initiative’s staff and board, we would like to express our gratitude for your gift of $XXXX (not too much, more later I hope) Your generosity has enabled us to continue our vital work in the advancement of fostering US/Muslim relations. We are continuing our struggle to uphold the American ideal of religious freedom for all, and with your assistance, we are one step closer to achieving our mission of peace, tolerance and understanding.
As I am sure you can imagine, we have simply been overwhelmed by the extraordinary attention recently generated by building a proposed Community Center in lower Manhattan. Please be assured that every gift received at this critical time is essential to supporting our work. We are deeply touched by the outpouring of kindness we have received, and consider your support a gesture of friendship. Thank you.
I will look forward to keeping you posted as we move forward. In the meantime, I have attached a copy of my recent op-ed which recently appeared in the New York Times.
Sincerely,
Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf
