Republican Cannibalism: Murkowski may lose Senate committee spot
Murkowski may lose Senate committee spot - CNN.com
(CNN) — Senate Republicans are expected on Wednesday to strip Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski of her post as ranking Republican on the Senate Energy Committee.
Republicans say they will vote to elect an acting ranking member and then the full GOP conference will ratify the vote.

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman, John Cornyn, R-Texas, said this is, “the appropriate thing to do. When you chose not to accept the judgment of the primary voters and run as a write-in … it has consequences.”
Another Republican came out of the Senate GOP lunch and said it was clear Murkowski has no support among her colleagues anymore.
That senator spoke on condition of anonymity, in order to speak freely about a private meeting.

Sen. Murkowski Keeps Energy Post
In a rare triumph for Senate traditionalists in this anti-establishment year, Republicans Wednesday decided not to punish Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska) by stripping her of a powerful committee post.
Senate Republicans, angered by Murkowski’s decision to run for re-election as a write-in candidate after losing the Republican primary, met behind closed doors to consider demoting her from her post as top Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, a prized perch for her resource-rich state.
