‘Iron Man’ suits in the field in the next 5 years.
The suit, pronounced “exos,” presumably from exoskeleton, allows the wearer to perform physical duties far in excess of what the human body can cope with. It allows the user to punch through wooden boards, carry heavy loads and support heavy backpacks.
Two version of the “iron man” suit are under development, a legs-only combat model intended to support heavy backpacks and a full-suit logistics version meant to allow users to carry water, supplies and ammunition boxes. The current incarnation of the XOS 2 isn’t destined for frontline use, won’t have weapons and will only work while connected to a power source.
