Ah hah! Another point of similarity: Rickety straw airplane will bring cargo, rickety strawman arguments will bring political power.
An alarming difference is that the latter could be right.

One of my former employees was a member of Joel Osteen's church, and was rapidly overextended trying to follow the 'prosperity gospel' cargo cult teachings, buying a Mercedes and a big house, (all the while giving 10% of his family income to Osteen).
