Cycroft Photography: Great Egret with fish
Art • October 2010 • Views: 556
The Great Egret (Ardea alba), also known as the Great White Egret or Common Egret, is fairly common in my neck of the woods, though not as common as the closely related Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias). It is sometimes confused with the Great White Heron in Florida, which is a white morph of the Great Blue Heron. The name, Great White Heron, is occasionally used (incorrectly) to refer to the Great Egret.
