Snow chaos costs Scots economy £50m a day
THE worst November snowfalls in 17 years plunged Scotland into chaos as business leaders warned the freezing conditions would cost the country more than £50 million a day - mainly in lost Christmas trade.
Heavy snow up to 16 inches deep in places saw main roads closed and police warned those not making vital journeys to stay at home, as it was predicted that the “horrendous” winter conditions are set to get even worse later this week.
Edinburgh and Glasgow airports were closed by the snowfall, while many bus and rail services were suspended.
Hope Ice & Jimmah are warm & safe!
