The Project PM Schematic
I have mentioned in passing my distributed think-tank Project PM which I founded a year ago in order to fulfill a narrow function but which has since expanded in intent quite a bit. Last night I created a video presentation by way of a visual overview of how the schematic works in order to supplement the written version I had previously made public; I’ll share it here for those who might be interested in learning more about the project or who otherwise have an interest in how seemingly simple systems can provide a more elegant framework for information flow than what currently exists.
As I mention towards the end of the video, Project PM has in the meantime been working on several sub-projects which will eventually be brought under the framework of our “civilian” network, which itself works similarly to the blogger network described in the video above. The only one that we have publicly launched thus far is the Science Journalism Program, which I announced in Skeptical Inquirer a few months back and which now consists of several dozen scientists and journalists whom we are pairing together in order to promote the creation of superior science articles for the general press; in addition to making the initial match, we also provide assistance in editing and placement.
But such programs as that are merely pieces of the puzzle; overall, the purpose of the second network is to to implement an ever-expanding and operationally efficient cartel made up of individuals of a certain caliber and possessing certain shared values - the sort of thing that would not have been technologically feasible twenty years ago but which is now inevitable by virtue of being possible.
Incidentally, Dr. Kenneth Lipp - a behavioral ethologist at Darwin College who recently joined the Science Journalism Program mentioned above - last night sent me some questions regarding the schematic in question along with a diagram of his own, and I will try to respond to him by video, after which I will post the result in an update here for those who may have similar questions.
