No worries, mate! Iran says nuclear work is, in the deeply buried in mountain labs, just for peaceful purposes. ICBMs? No one would even put a weapon of mass destruction on one, would they?

Yep, lets negotiate away a defensive missile system to not scare the Russians.

Also, I doubt "anyone" would bother to order a naval blockade to provide for the National Defense (it's somewhere in The Constitution, if I recall, maybe right near the words about promoting the general welfare).

Serious stuff, and worth paying attention to.

Oh please. Venezuela is nowhere near able to support that kind of technology. Besides, the response strike would just be overwhelming. And Hugo Chavez knows it.

One does well to attribute maximum capabilities to one's adversary, while only crediting "effective" capability (not maximum) to your own forces. In all the "Fog of War," that helps to have fewer surprises. For example: Whoda thunk airliners make really neat "cruise missiles?" Yep, didn't see that one coming.

Just for hypothetical talking points, what if, they do get even one missile in the air? Do the math on flight time. Our fastest response would be hours late.

Tell that to those living around a smoking hole. Something similar didn't seem to please the 9/11 families.

Better to "discourage" the desire, than to deal with it with the exchange of munitions. Also helps to put a "mitigating" factor into the decision making methods of those who know we're not happy with it.

Best yet: Ensure Iran doesn't build any nuclear weaponry, then this entire discussion becomes moot.

Stuxnet 2.0.

3.0. I bet they know how to check for it now....or at least will isolate potentially affected equipment.

Toss another monkey wrench into the equation...SOON!
