AT&T Loses Exclusivity On Apple’s iPhone; Gets Caught Goosing Network Figures

AT&T appears to be on the verge of losing its exclusive deal to sell and distribute Apple’s iPhones. When that happens, Verizon will benefit in a big way.
Apple will benefit from being available on another network, and it means that Droid-based phones will likely lose market share.
Meanwhile, AT&T has rebranded its 3G network as 4G despite not actually meeting the technical terms of 4G (and that it can’t actually meet the existing demand of 3G customers.
All in all, it’s a double dose of bad news for AT&T.
