I knew he was full of shit. It's too bad he won re-election.

I guess he's mine, too, but I didn't vote for the...man.

I didn't vote for him either, but we're stuck with him for another four years. =P

This doofus took over for W right after the 2000 election. Then he won races in 2002, 2006 and 2010. When he finishes his new term, he will have been Texas guv for 14 years, longer than FDR was president. I weep for my native Texas.

The GOP are basically Lucy with the football, and America keeps believing them.

I actually have hopes (small) for Jerry Brown to do a number on our (as a Californian) deficit. I'd be willing to maintain the tax hikes set in place by Arnold as long as I see his "austerity budget" include a lot of drastic cuts. I'm also very glad Meg Whitman did not win.

He's my governor too.

Sigh.

re: #4 Cankles McCellulite

Bless your heart. At least Palin quit. Perry just keeps on running.

Think how good you'll feel when you get a competent governor. It'll be like taking off a pair of uncomfortable shoes.

They already cut so much that TX is 50th in per capita spending. What else are they going to cut?
Idiots.

He was quoted in this morning's paper as saying that there was no budget deficit since the Texas constitution requires a balanced budget and Texas could never spend enough to satisfy some people.

And the Speaker of the House (probably the second most powerful elected person in the state) was selected by the Republican caucus. The Democrats might as well stay home. At least he's "moderate" enough to have pissed off the teabaggers. Of course, that's not saying much since the Texas flavor of teabagger is absolutely insane with hatred about a African American president.

By the time these people finish Texas will be somewhere south of your average third world country on per capita spending. And the Republicans will celebrate.

Pretty much. Being anything other than Republican in this state is a fool's errand most of the time. Every now and then there might be some good folks in local and state offices, but at the highest levels, this is solidly a red state, and everyone is paying for it. =P

27 Billion is a lot easier to deal with than 14 Trillion...

re: #15 dragonfire1981

Tell that to the people who are going to lose their jobs and any services they might need here so that Perry can keep pretending that there's no budget deficit.

The US deficit is not 14T... the debt is.
27B can be pretty difficult to deal with when you won't raise taxes and need to balance the budget...

Let's not forget the tea party legislature we now have. By the time these assholes are finished, Texas will be part of Mexico.
