Hawaii Dems move to calm ‘birthers,’ make Obama’s birth records available
Hawaii legislators move to shore up state revenues by charging Nirthers a $100.00 fee for copies of our President’s birth certificate.
Hawaii lawmakers are hoping to encourage so-called birthers to back off their requests for President Barack Obama’s birth certificate by charging a $100 fee to anyone who asks for a copy from the state.
A group of Democrats in the state legislature has introduced a bill that would allow the state’s department of health to charge the fee when providing a copy of a birth certificate “of a person who is a candidate for, or elected to, a public office that requires the person to be a United States citizen.” The legislature’s Democratic leadership and committee chairs must decide whether to bring the bill to a public hearing, a necessary step before a final vote.
