Jim Hoft proves he can’t read, confuses AlJazeera.com with AlJazeera.net
In his posting “Stunner. Obama Gets His Information from Anti-Semitic Aljazeera Channel” far-right blogger Jim Hoft writes:
Stunner. President Obama gets his Middle East news from the anti-Semitic anti-American Aljazeera channel.
Hoft’s proof of AJ’s antisemitism? The word “anti-Semitic” is linked to this article:
alJazeera.com Happily Uses Material from anti-Semitic Organization on its Website.
The article explicitly states:
Yesterday’s alJazeera.com (a media organization out of the UK, a separate entity from Al Jazeera Satellite)…
Wikipedia confirms:
Aljazeera.com is an English language website for Aljazeera Magazine. It is unrelated to the Arabic satellite TV channel Al Jazeera, which operates websites in both Arabic (www.aljazeera.net) and English (english.aljazeera.net) or Al Jazeera Newspaper of Saudi Arabia.
[…]
In 2005, the Al Jazeera TV channel attempted to obtain the aljazeera.com domain name[2] but failed.[3]
This is not to say that AJTV is wholly unproblematic, that’s not the point. The point is that Jimbo is a dumb hack who doesn’t read his own sources. His only evidence that AJTV is antisemitic is that a site unrelated to the network is antisemitic.
And just in case Hoft changes/deletes his page, here’s a copy.
