I went to Representative Franklin's Facebook page. Degrees in Bible Studies and Business Administration from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain.

That explains a lot.

Good Lord. I used to live in GA in ATL. I can't believe they actually managed to out crazy Texas when it comes to politics. These red states just keep getting redder and dumber as time goes by.

Okay, I see the logic - kinda. Murder or assault victims can be identified as such by being dead or obviously wounded. Victims of other kinds of crime that don't show scars may be making false accusations.

But what about the rape victim who has been so savagely raped that the damage is obvious to a physician? Or the wife beaten to the point of being bruised and bones broken? Don't they qualify as victims?

And why limit the designation of "accuser" to the specific crimes listed? Shouldn't the victims of scam artists like Madoff also be "accusers" until the scammer is convicted?

Oh, I forgot. A big proportion of scam artists' victims are men. Makes all the difference.

Yeah, even that doesn't work, since an assault victim could conceivably have inflicted the injury on themselves, and the murder victim might possibly be suicide.

There really isn't any logic to this.

It's just woman-hating.

This trend is horrifying.

How long before a wingnut introduces a bill to allow a husband to beat his uppity wife with a stick no thicker than 1/4 of inch in diameter? Because anything more than 1/4 of an inch would be barbaric. /SARC

This is just stupid on so many levels. I know this is only a state rep but it seems to me the GOP is doing all it possibly can to alienate women voters. I mean yeah as John Q pointed out, in some cases you can't prove someone's been raped like you could with a murder victim but with many victims, there has been rape kits that proved they have in fact been raped. This guy sounds like a real asshole to me.
