I guess we’re even because I don’t like Dennis’ “brand” of Christianity.

You know even if he was a Muslim which he’s not, why would it matter? The way people like this guy and his political allies act is that you can’t be Muslim and a loyal American. I’ve said it before but it parallels alot on what people said about Catholic immigrants being more loyal to Rome than the US or the rabid antisemites who accuse Jews of being more loyal to Israel than the US.

Indeed, but with Obama, what this goes to is the “otherness” meme - the idea that this guy with a funny sounding name with roots to an Islamic country, and may or may not have been born in the USA (mountainous evidence notwithstanding), is somehow not one of us. For example, how many times has he been called “anti-American” and been accused of being “angry” at the United States and seeking retribution?

And yes, I do think his race is a factor in this equation, but not as much as some would say.

Yeah I think you’re right about that. The whole “angry” and revenge thing is a narrative that I often hear about Limbaugh trying to push. It’s much like the propaganda I learn about in history where the person being demonized is made out to be the “angry” and demonic one when of course the demonizer is the real angry one.

Dinesh D’Souza wrote a book called “The Roots of Obama’s Anger.” I’m sure it’s a real page turner.

In the African-American community we have no doubt about it. It’s how you say n***** when you can’t say n*****. It’s there way of saying there is a non white male as president and that they don’t like it.

I give you Lee Atwater:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “n*****, n*****, n*****.” By 1968 you can’t say “n*****” — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now [that] you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “n*****, n*****.”

“He’s changed our history thing……”
Out founding fathers were not what these guys make them out to be either, but who’s paying attention? Not the people who vote for these goof balls.
