I have a serious point in posting this. I'd like to know what influences conspiracy believers to interpret things the way they do, and if any conspiracy believer can explain it in his own words, I'd like to hear it.

You're asking on the wrong blog, I hope. After you've eliminated all the elements that don't correlate (age, sex, race, religion, education, wealth) you're likely to be left with a personality-driven explanation.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories. But an answer to your question would be child abuse. So, next time you have a conversation with a conspiracy believer, let them talk for a long time.
