Without that legislation, the government would shut down. And, voilà: a government held for ransom.

I seem to recall the Republicans already doing the whole government shutdown thing in a pathetic attempt to humiliate the POTUS and get him to give in to their demands. Didn’t turn out so well for them last time.

But hey, if they want to piss off the citizenry at large in order to score cheap political points with the teabaggers, I won’t stop them.

So, while the US recovery is still (extremely) fragile, they’re going to shut the Government down and put tens of thousands of people out of work? If the situation was reversed, they would be screaming treason.
