Reckless spending, eh?

What we need are more madrassas, I guess. Why should Pakistan and Saudi Arabia be ahead of us? We should be number one in poorly conceived wacko religious education!

Less education now is more welfare in the future. Governments around the world started funding education on a large scale in the 19th century. They didn’t do this out of the goodness of their political hearts. They did it because they could see past the next budget cycle, and the enormous return that such an investment would provide.

You’re in Las Vegas, too? I saw that article in the paper…along with all the dittohead comments. It’s disgusting and demoralizing how much education is looked down upon by the populace in this city. I quit teaching when I became pregnant and planned on returning when my kids started first grade. That’s not going to happen now. I don’t have the stomach for it. My husband teaches high school science and he’s very concerned about what’s going to happen with the new budget and all the cuts that are going to be made.

An educated populace is a threat to folks like Limbaugh and the GOP in general. People who know how to reason discard them. This is why there has been a continuous war on education from that set for decades.

Rush dropped out of college after a year; go figure.

Whatever these people don’t understand, it’s “reckless spending”. Now, say that Smith & Wesson is going bankrupt, or that their church of predilection is falling in pieces, and they’ll understand quickly why it’s a bad idea to let them rot.

Perhaps, much more than lack of understanding, it’s hostility towards education and science.

@philosophus invidius: I hope you don’t get the pink slip.

I guess to him, all public spending is by definition wasteful.

To Limbaugh, all people and events are merely tools by which to make more money.

To a creature such as Rush, money is the only thing that matters. As long as “money” is made the effects on quality of living, peoples’ lives and employment and the nation itself is of secondary concern. “Money” will fix it. He has been a voice against every law and safeguard that was put in place to protect human life and air and water quality. OSHA to him is a joke and any questioning of “moneys” intentions is government intervention or a socialist plot. He is a bought commodity and as such is no longer a voice of anything but “money”. He tells you to listen to him and then you will magically understand his brilliant mind. Right. Rush is a shill and pandering megalomaniac who has no vested interest in anything but “money”. Then that money is funneled into jobs and infrastructure and putting America back to work financing the attack on wages and Unions and clean air and water and women’s rights for starters. Did I get it right Rush? Maybe I should buy a Gold Membership and be sure to get it right? Everyone is entitled to ones opinion and my opinion is that Rush is a toad. A very rich toad but a toad nonetheless.
