My guess is the other suspects may be looking to plead out rather than take their chances with a jury now?

Although I am in principle against the death penalty, I cannot help feeling that justice has truly been served here.

This.

I still think the death penalty is bad policy, but in this case, I don’t mind so much. I think a quick and painless death is too good for this woman, really, but it’s not like humanity will be any poorer for her absence.

To me, it’s a bad policy because innocent people can die or be framed. 100s of prisoners were let out of death row when DNA evidence started to be used.

Defense attorney Jill Thorpe asked jurors to spare Ford’s life, saying she was a “broken person” who suffered repeated acts of sexual and physical abuse and abandonment as a child.

I wanted to comment on this earlier. I was reading about her history. She definitely had a tortured childhood, tossed from relative to relative. Something like 4 caregivers before she was 3? And her mother was nuts. Did she even know her father?

This alone is abusive. The Miami cop killer last month, Johnny Sims, had a similar upbringing. All abused children, however, don’t grow up to be ruthless killers, so it takes a special kind of person still.

I also don’t accept her claims of sexual abuse. Not that it couldn’t happen. For sure it could, but she’d say anything at this point. Also, some of those stories are pretty far out there. Really over the top. I’d have to have some corroborating evidence of abuse before I believed her.

Anyway, justice was served.

It will be interesting to see. Forde is still claiming she’s innocent.

I am sorry she deserved this, and my only satisfaction is that justice was served.

I’m sorry to say but you can only do one thing with a mad dog…

Even though its sad it was kicked as a puppy, and starved, you gotta take it out back, lassie-style.

I’m strongly anti DP but people like Ms. Forde test that opposition. I just hope Mrs. Flores can move on with her life after this senseless tragedy.
