Apparently these sentiments don't apply to successful, single (with plans to marry) Jewish actresses...then they become a bad role model.

Screw Huckabee and the wingnuts getting all apoplectic over Natalie Portman. It's one more indication that they are all about control over anyone who is not like them...

That's exactly what I was gonna say. It certainly is convenient that when "evangelicals" fall short God can overlook that, but as for everyone else, you're nothing but a sinner and scourge to humanity.

And to Mike Huckabee I say thank you for showing us your true colors, and letting us know what kind of ugly person you are. You have reduced yourself to nothing more than a close-minded bigot with, as far I'm concerned, zero redeemable qualities.

I actually think Portman is a proxy for Bristol. Sarah Palin is the Huckster's biggest rival for social conservative voters. I doubt anyone who heard this comment from him didn't think of Bristol Palin. If social conservatives believe that unmarried mothers are destroying American, than Bristol is apart of that destruction.

i was having a conversation with my mother and she said the exact same thing. every single article about huckabee's comments regarding portman mentions bristol. bristol being the most popularized single mother recently.

That seems to be a popular comparison. I can't say I thought of Bristol Palin, myself. I spend very, very little time thinking about Bristol Palin.

I think Huckabee has lost whatever honesty he once had and has been corrupted by his gig on Fox. I can't say I agreed with Huckabee on a lot of issues pre-Fox, but at least I thought he was being internally consistent and honest. Now? Not so much.

Huckabee's comments about Obama and Portman are despicable, but he's not a complete fool. He knows who he is talking to and what message he is trying to deliver. All of his comments are dog whistles to bigots and socons. As a Southern politician he is well trained in the art of dog whistle rhetoric.

White Christian heterosexual males. White Christian heterosexual males yearning for a tidy pre-Darwin pre-EPA pre-ACLU pre-Civil War theocracy where we can all eat, live, breed, pray, and hunt ~~witches~~ squirrels as one big white Christian happy family... Just drink the Kool-Aid and hop on board.

That pretty much leaves the rest of us SOL. The rest of us being anyone who isn't a white male bible thumping sonofabitch.

I don't think you could say it much better.
When he let a ray of light shine on his Christian Values that was all I needed to see. He is the same POS in a different wrapper.
