100mph driver claims he was fleeing aliens after Dr Phil warned him in a high-pitched voice
A driver told police he raced at speeds over 100mph to get away from chasing aliens after getting a warning from television host Dr Phil.
Richard Blanscet claimed the talk show star spoke in a high-pitched voice telling him an ET invasion had began near his home in Rowan County, North Carolina.
The 21-year-old, who said he had been smoking ‘a legal form of marijuana,’ set out in his father’s high-powered Jaguar XK8 to ‘rescue’ his girlfriend.
Charged: Richard Blanscet claims he got a warning of an alien invasion near his home in North Carolina from Hollywood television presenter Dr Phil McGraw
Now Blanscet has been charged with trying to elude arrest, driving while impaired, and resisting an officer. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
Deputies claim their high-speed chase through a cemetery and a church parking lot began after they were called to help EMS deal with a patient.
The crew reported Blanscet had struck them with a car and then raced off.
According to the Sheriff’s report, Blanscet crashed twice before finally stopping and telling a deputy of the message from Hollywood’s Dr Phil McGraw.
Blanscet told WBTV the ‘alien invasion’ felt very real to him after smoking ‘Wicked X Herbal Smoke.’
He thought aliens were coming through the electronics in his home. He slammed down two phones, pulled the smoke detector off a wall and turned off the television.
When he went outside he believed he saw and heard a helicopter and thought aliens were coming after him.
Blanscet claimed he also believed the police cruiser’s blue lights were ‘aliens’.
Blanscet said: ‘I wasn’t high.’This was reality to me.’ He said he wished he hadn’t bought ‘the cheap stuff’ to smoke.
