Helen Thomas does not claim to be Palestinian, but is of Lebanese ancestry. I am sure she would be welcome to "go back from where she came" in Lebanon any time. Oddly enough, I never hear her complain about Hezbullah occupying her country of ancestry, which must be the Jews - I mean the Zionists - fault anyway. As a Christian, I never hear her complain about mistreatment of Christians and other minorities in Lebanon and throughout the Arab and Muslim world, not to mention oppression and persecution of women, gays, etc. I guess that must be the fault of the Jews - sorry, I meant to say Zionists - as well.

Almost no Jews left in the Arab/Muslim world you say? Further proof that it is an international conspiracy by the Jews - I mean Zionists - to control the world and keep the Muslim world oppressed via the media and financial systems. Anyway, it's all in her Playboy interview. As the introduction states:

"...Based in Los Angeles, Hochman flew to Washington to meet Thomas at her apartment near Dupont Circle. They also broke bread at her favorite Palestinian restaurant. “I was curious whether I’d find the ranting woman from the YouTube video,” Hochman says. “She turned out to be a person in full possession of her faculties and impressively articulate. Mostly she was the Thomas the public has known forever: feisty, passionate and not afraid to speak up.” Does Hochman, who is Jewish, believe Thomas is an anti-Semite? “I’ll let the reader decide. But I did think it was amusing when she presented a plate of ham sandwiches and then said, ‘Oh, I hope I haven’t served the wrong thing.’ ”

Let's see, she presented a plate of ham sandwiches to her Jewish interviewer while they "broke bread" at her favorite Palestinian restaurant. I would say she served the wrong thing, but what do I know.

Aricept.

She's still antisemitic--because of her insistence on changing history. But she needs Aricept.

I was thinking curare, but, not being a pharmacist or medical professional, I sometimes make mistakes in prescribing drugs.

It would eliminate the Alzheimer symptoms. I've seen medications advertised on TV with the same side effects.

It is not mental illness, it is racism. She has been this way for all of her adult life.

Global Issues: U.S. Charities Proselytize Overseas Using Public Funds
It's unconstitutional for faith-based organizations (FBOs) to proselytize using public funds, but some FBOs manage to circumvent these rulings by conducting their evangelistic charity projects overseas. In a recent article for Firstpost, an Indian website, Rupa Subramanya argues that ...

Are conservatives anti-science?
Are conservatives anti-science? Spoiler: Conservatives aren't anti-science or pro-science. But, they are pro-common-sense. And once more scientists adopt common sense approach to science, they'll find that they have the support of conservative politicians - the people whose job it is ...

The Lavender Scare
Here is an interesting article on one of Tail Gunner Joe's sick witch hunts that has, unfortunately, been forgotten. I try not to feel schadenfreude of the fate of McCarthy's side kick, Ray Cohn, but I never succeed.

Eric Alterman: A Wake-Up Call for US Liberals

This is a really nice place. Don't f*ck it up. -- Chrysler Hall, Norfolk, Virginia in the Spring of 1984. A very genteel place to see fine compositions performed live. Usually the opera folks hang out there.
