Felon says Jason Bush told of killings in Arivaca, AZ
A convicted felon testified Tuesday Jason Bush confessed he killed an Arivaca man and his daughter during a home invasion.
Although Oin Oakstar said he would’ve killed Raul Junior Flores himself, given the opportunity, he couldn’t fathom anyone killing a family.
“I don’t understand what would happen that would cause that,” Oakstar, 40, said.
Tuesday was the second day in the capital murder trial of Bush, a Meadview, Ariz., resident who is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the May 30, 2009, deaths of Raul Junior Flores, 29, and Brisenia Flores, 9. He is also charged with attempted murder in the shooting of Flores’ wife, Gina Gonzalez, 32.
Oakstar told jurors he and fellow Arivaca resident Albert Gaxiola viewed Flores as drug competition and obtained permission to kill him from a higher up in early 2009.
No plans were made however, until Gaxiola introduced Minutemen American Defense founder Shawna Forde to him in May 2009, Oakstar said.
Forde needed money to fund her militia group and they decided to rob and kill Flores, Oakstar said.
