Police foil armed outfit´s bid to strike terror
Nepal Police today swooped on the politburo meeting of a previously unheard of armed outfit in the Valley and detained its leader and five executive members.
Police claimed it was successful in aborting a major plot to detonate bombs in the Valley to create panic amongst the denizens. A special squad by Metropolitan Police Crime Division had raided two houses- Jagati of Bhaktapur and Baluwatar of Kathmandu - leading to bust ‘Nepal Communist Party ‘Bidrohi’ Maoist’.
The police have also recovered an 9mm automatic pistol, two homemade guns, explosive powder, detonators, two bullets of 3-0-3 rifle, two pressure cookers, nails, electric wires, two banners bearing party name, combat dress, headbands, donation pads, party literature, leaflets, cash receipts, a copy of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, five mobile phone sets, seven SIM cards, and press statements prepared for media among others.
