It is as gutting to everything I like about America and everything sane as possible. It is truly the work of deranged fanatics in the callous employ of cynical oil barons.

This goes very well as a partner to my most recent page also.

They haven't reduced us to slave labor for the Empire yet.

This being the sesquicentennial of the start of the Civil War, perhaps we need to do a little experiment in separation. Pick 2 states-one liberal and one conservative. Kansas and Massachussetts, California and Texas, whatever. Cut them loose and check and see how they're doing in a few years. I'm guessing I know where I'd rather be in 10 years...

I have long argued that we should let Texas become the Republic of Jesustan they seem to want so badly and let them run the place on libertarian pixie dust. We can rescue the survivors in 20 years.

Much of the list looks like it's intended as a FUCK YOU to the President.

The whole document is outrageous. I feel like it must be a hoax. If not, then shut down the bloody government. This sort of thing is not supposed to happen on budget "riders."

I'm with elizajane on this. If BO blinks I'll lose a lot of respect for him.

re: #5 MinisterO

Looks like history will have to repeat itself:

After the 2001 terrorist attacks and the anthrax attacks that shook public and professional confidence in the C.D.C., the agency became much more involved with bioterrorism and its possible effects on national security. Federal funds were used to upgrade disease surveillance systems, improve communication with local doctors and hospitals and bolster the ability of a network of laboratories throughout the country to detect the microbes considered most likely to be used in a bioterrorist attack.

Dr. Richard Besser, the acting director of the C.D.C., said that "investments in preparedness" led to the 2009 swine flu outbreak being identified in the United States as quickly as it was.

In May 2009, President Obama named Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, the commissioner of New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, as the next C.D.C. director.

That year, the C.D.C. reported that after decades of steady progress, improvements to the safety of the nation's food supply fell off in the mid-2000s. The decade and 2010 were marked by recalls of tainted eggs, peanut butter and spinach that sickened thousands and led major food makers to join consumer advocates in demanding stronger government oversight. The Senate passed a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s food-safety system in November 2010.

Liberal media outlets deny this.

Except that building the Death Star would require that NASA collaborates with China for tech. Oops.
