I seriously doubt that the Constitution's authors ever gave any consideration to the right to same-sex marriage. I know they didn't intend african-americans to have any rights. The founders had a glorious vision of a republic of free men under the rule of law, but fell short due to their social prejudices and political reality of that time. I do not believe the Constitution incorporates the prejudices of 18th and 19th century white men, so we are free to fully realize the promise of due process and equal protection of the law contained in the Constitution.

The vote was limited to free male property owner's only as I recall my history classes. No females nor non-property owning males were allowed the vote. Of course, my memory resembles swiss cheese lately so I could be wrong.

I'm equally sure the Founding Fathers™ were all about gay marriage. And I have just as much proof.

Haven't you guys taken American History? The top subject of the Continental Congress and everyone there decided that gay marriage was bad, right after Jesus arrived to deliver the constitution.

Is that after the part where they declare Charles Darwin's theories to be satanistic despite Darwin being born 20 years after the Constitution was written?

Yes, just before they adopted Objectivism as their official philosophy.

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that..."

"Why are we writing them down if they're self evident?"

"It just looks better that way, all right?"

"Fine, fine. No need to get your breeches in a bunch."

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all people are created equal..."

"Steady on, old boy. We don't want to give the wenches any ideas".

[sigh] "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal..."

"Well, except for the gays, of course. You'd better put that in there."

"Oh, FFS! Why don't you write the damn thing, then?"

"Take it easy. We'll go with your version. Our descendents will know we don't want the gays getting married, anyway".

[Several hours, and several drafts later]

"Hmmm. Do you think they'll know that when we say "men", we're not including Blacks?"

"Are you kidding me? Everyone knows that."

"I dunno. Some people say they should be able to vote."

"Right. And next you'll tell me a Black man will be president one day".

[All] "Hahahahaha!"
