Over the weekend, we stumbled upon this interview between Bradlee Dean of vehemently anti-gay You Can Run But You Cannot Hide Ministry and their mentor Harry Jackson discussing his fight against marriage equality in Washington, DC.

Dean and Jackson commiserated over the fact that both have been “persecuted for righteousness’s sake” by “the wicked,” with Jackson declaring that gay marriage is part of “a Satanic plot to destroy our seed”:

Do people like this ever stop and listen to themselves speak? Gay marriage is a Satanic plot to destroy the family? Really, gay marriage has been legalized in Washington D.C and Maryland, both border my state and you know what, I haven’t seen my family destroyed because of it. I hate to sound hyperbolic but these people really do sound like the Taliban and others like that more daily.

Why is it always about their dicks? I mean “seed” seems so much more mystical and godly, but it’s still about their dick; their dick’s superpowers, using their dick, a dick with a purpose, revere the sanctity of a well aimed dick, cute babies come from dick seeds and babies are precious therefore really neat things come out of dicks so if you only appreciate the dick all the wrongs of the world shall be righted just like the Founding Fathers™ intended. Yep, the “destroying marriage” marriage meme is getting old. These guys need to step up their game, or (insert some other manly sports analogy here).

I doubt that marriage or divorce rates have changed much with the advent of same sex marriage. And I further doubt that the old ‘the man is head of the family’ concept is really a part of many marriages any more so same sex marriages don’t confuse too many of us that way either.
