Irony: Poll Finds Most Americans Unsure of Trump’s Birthplace
This is too funny.
Emoticon NOT added for emphasis, but is a part of the article
A new Gallup/USA Today poll finds significant doubt about whether Donald Trump, the real estate mogul and television personality who is considering a bid for presidency, was born in the United States.
According to the survey, just 43 percent of Americans believe that Mr. Trump was definitely born in the United States. Another 20 percent believe that he was probably born here. Some 7 percent of respondents told Gallup that Mr. Trump was probably or definitely born in another country, while 30 percent were uncertain.
No, this poll is not a joke. We’re several weeks past April Fools’ Day. But it’s one that should encourage us to proceed more cautiously when we see similar numbers reported for President Obama.
Whoever made this poll is my favorite person in a LONG time. Like the article suggests, this could simply be people making a hilarious response to the question and venting their anger. It is possible that that is in fact what Birtherism is all about, as this Politico article argues by relating the amount of Dems who “knew” that the Bush administration let 9/11 happen. It’s possible… but you didn’t see liberal POTUS hopefuls touting that as their initial foray into the primary.A comparison of opinion
