Trump and Co. should drop pretense, cough out the dog whistles they swallowed, and say what they really think out loud.

Morons, all.

That said, dealing with silliness is a lot easier than having to deal with the real problems the country faces.

I guess when Glenn Beck takes his Delusional Tears For Fears and Parinoid Schism Dog and Pony Show off of Fox....Donald "Dark Side" trump can slide right in. What a load of dung he is.

Atwater: You start out in 1954 by saying, "n*****, n*****, n*****." By 1968 you can't say "n*****" — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "n*****, n*****." - Lee Atwater, architect of the Southern Strategy.

They are still saying "n*****, n*****, n*****".

That's the thing about conspiracies. Once one starts, facts and logic are irrelevant. The theory morphs and evolves into something else, ignoring away those facts.

Now that the citizenship is without a doubt proven (as it was with the short form, but that's besides the point), the conspiracists move on to the next issue as though there was hardly a ripple. They'll focus on his academic records or his voting record or drivers license or something else. Trump is just the loudest of the loudmouths claiming that Obama isn't a true American™ in some sense, and therefore these grotesque "investigations" into his birth and history are relevant, even though the media pretty much sussed all that information years ago.

Perhaps Trump would like it now that he's put himself out there as the guy who got Obama to release the long form that investigators go digging into Trump's academic records, citizenship papers, business dealings, and pretty much everything else that Trump says or does. The fact is that Trump got where he is now because his father was fortunate and savvy enough to build up a major real estate portfolio. Trump took that portfolio and multiplied it by focusing on the luxury market, but he's had more than his share of failures. Trump's obsession over Obama's history says quite a bit about Trump.

Obama should do everything in his power to help Trump win the Republican nomination.
