This latest announcement by Hamas doesn't change the fact they can, and always could, suck my dick (if I had one). They are contemptible, murdering, delusional, extremists, without any hint of redemption.

Killing terrorists just creates more terrorists....or something.

Not yet. So far, there is some memoranda and agreements etc. There will not be an official joint Hamas/PA government until elections are held, Hamas murders members of the opposition, frees terrorists and releases several cartoons vilifying Jews.

They're just doing it too take a dig at America, it's kind of like trolling. AQ and Hamas do not get along, at one point Hamas was killing AQ proxies in Palestine.

It's a combination of Hamas' nationalism, AQ vehemently rejects the existence of an independent Palestinian or any independent Muslims stater, and a case of too many cooks. Plus, despite the development of Hamas' ties with, it's deep with the Saudi Royals.

Your statement is a gross simplification of Hamas objectives and policies that make it sound like a harmless political "jab". Hamas has a clearly established agenda which puts it squarely in the al-Qaeda sphere of operation and influence. Internecine squabbles and targeted political executions are not to be mistaken for disagreements on fundamental issues. This will never be a case of "my enemy's enemy", and Hamas cannot be controlled by the Saudi royal family or any other outside element for as long as the organization receives money, supplies and succour from its supporters along the extremist spectrum and misguided Western governments.

Hamas cares about the oppression and spilling of Muslim blood? Really?
There are Muslims all over the world that care about the oppression and spilling of Muslim blood, but Hamas has never given me any indication that they are one of them.

That's what it is, basically. It's merely propaganda that does not reflect the reality of the situation. You might not like it, but it's basically the truth. Just because they're both Islamist, doesn't mean the objectives of Hamas and AQ are same.

Hamas has a clearly established agenda which puts it squarely in the al-Qaeda sphere of operation and influence.

Hardly. You do realize that Hamas is both a member of the MB and it too took part in an election? AQ has declared that Hamas is taghut, you do realize the significance don't you? Too AQ, Hamas are literally collaborators with Israel.

Like in WW2 with the Soviets and Nazis, Hamas aren't the good guys, they're child murdering terrorists. But it's in their interest to limit their influence of AQ.

Gaza's radical Islamists: Hamas serves the Jewish usurpers

I can't find the original article, but here is an article Hamas response to Ayman Al-Zawahiri calling them Taghut.

I can provide far more articles in Arabic (by AQ themselves), if anyone else can read it.

re: #12 theye1

In the Arab mind, and on the Arab street, propaganda creates the reality of the situation. It does not matter how many languages you can read, you are succumbing to a basic misunderstanding; namely, that there are rational minds within Hamas (or Hizb'ullah, for that matter) who must certainly understand the "reality" of the situation. This is a typical Western weakness, to believe that democracy brings peace, and that rational thought inexorably leads to Western thinking. Or worse (I don't believe this to be the case, but you should be made aware how your posts read), you are knowingly propagating the version of political reality which Hamas sets out in English, for Western consumption, while ignoring the very unambiguous statements made in Arabic for Arab ears.

What you call "propaganda" is central to the creation, in Western minds, of a perceived reality in which Israel and the US target civilians, the Hamas murder of innocents is self-defence, and Israel is somehow an "apartheid state".

Hamas has no problem spilling the blood of Muslims - anyone who doesn't see things their way - whether it's Fatah or other Islamist groups getting thrown off rooftops is proof of that. Hamas wants to dominate Gaza and the land including Israel and the territories. It doesn't care how many people die, or how futile their efforts have been because they refuse Israel's existence.

Hamas is simply hoping to curry favor among Islamist groups to rally to the Hamas cause believing that they may pick up a few more jihadis in the process who might otherwise have joined up with an AQ affiliated group in the territories.

Hamas wants to spread its own ideological version of Islam, and that runs counter to the AQ philosophy as expounded by Zawahiri and Awlaki.

re: #12 theye1

It's not accurate to conclude that AQ and Hamas don't get along or don't have anything in common. Your links don't show that either.

Each link represents some kind of infighting between Hamas and AQ's "opinions", but the criticism is an illusion and means nothing. It's like if we criticized Britain over something, it wouldn't mean that we don't support them overall.

That's really a fucked up analogy, btw, because some of that infighting in Hamas is over the fact that one group of Hamas committed suicide before they could meet their "justice" by another group of Hamas who probably wanted to saw their heads off. (AQ thought they were weak for blowing themselves up.)

Also remember that your links are old. Things change rapidly in this part of the world. Enemies yesterday can be friends today and vice versa.
