Whatever one makes of the significance of the United States killing terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, it was almost an expectation of the news that Alex Jones and varying other voices of America’s paranoia would flip their collective sh*t. We live in paranoid times and Jones is as good a representation of that as can be found. Here’s a goodie from his website today:

Hamid Gul is like the original 9/11 truther, the first guy to say “the Jews did it” almost immediately afterwards. It’s not a surprise that he would come on now to obfuscate, and it’s no surprise that the King of Crazylvania, Alex jones, would host him.
That said most do not know that Hamid Gul is also one of the ex-ISI military leaders who was deposed in one of the cullings in Pakistan past 9/11, and that he very well could be one of the people who were hiding OBL since he leads a faction of those deposed ISI old guard officers.

This is from 2006 when Hamid Gul was warning Musharraf to back off after an assassination attempt against Musharraf:
Hamid Gul, the former director of the ISI, recently warned Musharraf that he risked opening “Pandora’s box” by taking action against him and the ISI. Gul is the architect of Pakistan’s ‘strategic depth’ strategy that led to the rise of the Taliban.
as an aside I was wrong in the premise of the article as the training was still going on, and Musharraf was just going through the motions. Political parties and others were still running the camps, the funds weren’t coming direct from the gov’t but they were still operating and Bill Roggio was right.
That assassination attempt is where Musharraf turned, and where he started playing better behind our backs with the Mehsuds, LeT, and other terrorists.
