My sister used to work at Mt. Vernon. Showed us around. Washington had a big operation, experimental farms, all kinds of things that were very advanced for the day, etc., somewhat like what Jefferson did. Interesting place.

The whitewashing of American history by the GOP continues. Remember how they censored the parts of the Constitution which referenced slavery, and how the Governor of Virginia said slavery wasn't an important factor in Virginia seceding from the Union?
