The protesters' actions were tantamount to a declaration of war; the IDF had no choice but to respond accordingly. Or so the argument goes.
I respect Israel's argument that she needs to defend her borders but killing unarmed protesters, including a woman and her baby, is nothing short of terrorism - or at least it would be if a Palestinian militant killed an Israeli mother and child. Instead, we'll call this an "unfortunate incident" à la Regev.

If you went to a nation's border & were told not to go any further, & you went further, what do you think would happen to you?

& I still want to know what it was in that wagon (?) they were lugging around, trying to get it to the border. Or did you not see that, or wonder about it?

It;s easy for them to say "Oh, we're nonviolent!" Same way they say "Oh, it's an ambulance/pregnant woman/stroller, how can you not let it through?" Easy to condemn the IDF when you're sitting at home & it's them with their butts on the line - literally!

If it takes a fanatic to show you what you missed, fine, I'm a fanatic, & I wouldn't say from this that you're an antisemite - just gullible.

WHAT WAS IN THE WAGON??!?!?! (lol)

Looks like they've pretty much got their number. If the Palestinians keep finding people willing to do this tactic, and keep the actual terrorism to a minimum, I suspect Israel will come to terms relatively quickly.

~~

Of course Hamas has reasons to be threatened by this tactic too, so look for them to be acting up more.

I'll be here waiting for the resident fanatics to tell me I'm an anti-semite just for posting this and how the writeup and the video are all wrong, etc etc.

You are an anti-Semite, not because you posted Syrian propaganda which you take at face value, but because of comments you made on this page, dehumanizing and demonizing the entire Jewish people.

Let's count the ways... Syrians organize to rush the border and break into the sovereign country next door - a nation with whom the Syrians are still technically at a state of war with. They use the Palestinians as canon fodder - and despite Israeli forces telling the protesters to back off the security fence, these "protesters" keep rushing the fence.

The terrorist regime in Damascus was behind the violence, and blaming Israel for whatever casualties occurred is sheer nonsense. Israel has every right to defend its border from infiltration and attack. That's precisely what these people were doing.

re: #5 lawhawk

I'd like to see some proof they did that.

And again, is there anyway this is less effective for Palestinians than the terrorism?

Here's some more color to the story:

I should add that the people in this photo do not appear to be peaceful at all.

Non-violent protests of the hard left today are nothing like the non-violent protest of MLK. MLK led his followers down the street singing and carrying signs.

The hard left "non-violently" storms borders, occupies statehouses, breaks blockades, etc., often "clashing with police" in the process, non-violently, of course. When you fight police, the army or the navy, even with light weaponry, you're purposely trying to provoke a injury or death in the hope that someone will pick up the news story and blame the army or police for overreacting when, in fact, they are protecting themselves, often as minimally as possible.

I don't think anybody would doubt for a second that Israel could have easily killed several hundred of the protesters today, rather than 20. So if Israel simply wanted to kill peaceful protesters, than why didn't they just kill a few hundred? Obviously, they didn't want to. So why would they want to kill 20 then? They probably didn't "want" to at all.

BTW, anyone who thinks that Israel is evil for this, I recommend you rush the Egyptian border, the Lebanese border, the Chinese border or numerous others and see what happens.

So why blame Israel for what is universally accepted?

Let's see.

Israel and Syria are still in a state of war with each other- a war foisted on Israel by Syria, Egypt and (belatedly) Jordan, after those nations kicked out UN Peace keepers, massed troops along her borders, promised her annihilation, 'rivers of blood' and other delights for resident Jews.

Syria has refused to recognize Israel, materially supports terror, provides refuge for terror organization leaders and violence against Israel by both Hamas and Hizbollah in Lebanon and is a recognized proxy of Iran in the region.

So when violence erupts at Israels border with a nation that funds terror against her, while the deaths are certainly regrettable they must be seen in context.

Encouraged by the Syrians, the Palestinians wanted to play. They paid.

Recall, this is not our border with Canada or the French border with Spain.

This is nation that has institutionalized bigotry, racism and hate. Children are taught, Allah in Heaven, Hitler on earth'.

The Israelis have been remarkably restrained for a very, very long time.

“Stop! You are breaching an international border. We warn you not to damage security infrastructure. Whosoever attempts to violate Israel’s sovereignty or security infrastructure puts himself in jeopardy."

OK hotshot, what do you do? What do you do?

I wouldn't say from this that you're an antisemite - just gullible.

But (to revise my answer) I would say that, coupled with the anti-circ page you also put up that, yes, you're an antisemite. Too much coincidence to actually be a coincidence.
