Oh, swell.

This will not end well.
And I'm afraid that a majority of those Arab countries undergoing the "Arab Spring" movements will ultimately see their push for freedom (secular/peaceful) overtaken by the M.B. or similar minded organizations.

That's how it's starting to look. Which sucks. People are fighting like hell for a better future, and they deserve one.

Banned since 1954 in Egypt, they're official once again as the Freedom and Justice Party.

We'll see how this goes.

That's about all we can do; wait and see how it goes.

The Egyptian "revolution" or whatever it's called was a BEGINNING; so many saw it as an ENDING.

It's impossible to argue for democracy while saying certain groups should not be able to organize or have a voice, however odious. I would be more worried if the new government started unilaterally banning political voices it disagreed with from Day 1, as it would simply imply we were back to another dictatorship.

It's worrisome, but I'm not going to be seriously concerned until they start becoming serious contenders in elections, which they currently aren't. They aren't particularly popular in Egypt at the moment, according to just about every poll I see. So we'll just have to keep an eye out and hope for the best.

"...To qualify as a party under new regulations, the party has declared it will be open to Muslims, Christians and women."

What about Jews? Just kidding! There are almost no Jews left in Egypt anyway:

Some kids were playing guitar in Tahrir Square, during the demos, and singing some old song from the 20s, about Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities uniting for Egypt.

It would have been more touching if there was a Jewish community left. As it was, it seemed, frankly, creepy.
