Hmmm… do you think God might be a bit surprised to find out that up till now he hasn’t been in control?

re: #1 SpaceJesus

Could you send the Third Person in your stead?

Holy shit, his state flies the official loon flag. I feel terrible for all the people of Texas who are surrounded by dogshit dumb fundamentalists. It scares the hell out of me someone like Perry and a bunch of redneck fundies can drag a state into the depths of stupid, but Texas is living proof.

At least from now on I won’t be feel misplaced blaming the financial pitfalls and bad weather of Texas on God himself, now he’s been put in charge. I know it might seem logical (and less blasphemous) to blame it on insincere on insufficient statewide prayer, but I’m more comfortable just blaming God.

As of August 06th God has a plaque on his desk, “The Buck for Texas Stops Here.” He’s a big guy. Let him take all the flack.

From The Response website:

Historic Response

As a nation, we must come together, call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy according to His grace, mercy, and kindness towards us. A historic crisis facing our nation and threatening our future demands a historic response from the church. We must, as a people, return to the faith and hope of our fathers. The ancient paths of great men were blazed in prayer – the humility of the truly great men of history was revealed in their recognition of the power and might of Jesus to save all who call on His great name.

Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists need not apply.

Exactly what I was just thinking.

Also from The Response website:

There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees.

Sounds like Perry has appointed himself the Grand Mufti of Texas. Creepy.

I wonder how long before he starts issuing fatwas…

They already have on women. You being Muslim and female… um, it doesn’t look so good if you decided to live your dream as an American Muslim cowgirl, I’ll say that much.

Yeah, I’m not planning on moving back to Texas in this lifetime, that’s for sure. Gah.

Texas respects people of all religions, no matter whether they’re Baptists or Methodists.

Yeah.

Some (most? too damn many, anyway) of the people in have lost their friggin’ minds.

Great title. Maybe Perry wants to be Prez so he can turn that power over to God as well.

Also, too:

As a nation, we must come together, call upon Jesus to guide us through having a Democratic president unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy according to His grace, mercy, and kindness towards us.
