It kind of seemed plausible.
But really, was it? I mean, yeshiva students throwing stones at cars driving on the sabbath: sure. But a dog that was the reincarnation of a lawyer? Stoned to death? Erm.
Well, as I suppose I ought to have realised, had I checked my prejudices, the story was not true. Ma’ariv, the newspaper which first broke the spiel, has now apologised. This is what the apology says – I’d appreciate a translation, if anybody can do it:
