Greensboro Smokers React to FDA’s New Anti-Smoking Campaign
The FDA will require tobacco companies to place graphic images on every pack of cigarettes by next fall.
It’s the first major change made to cigarette packs in more than 25 years.
Bars and restaurants throughout North Carolina now ban smoking. It was a big adjustment and one of the ways the government has tried to get people to quit.
News 2 showed the ads to customers at Charlie’s Tobacco Outlet to see what they thought.
Kenneth Moyer said, “Those teeth are ugly and look nasty…I’d hate for mine to look like that.”
That’s the reaction the government wants every smoker to have when they see the new graphic warnings on cigarettes.
