Report: Hezbollah preparing for war with Israel - Israel News, Ynetnews
Analysts rule out the possibility of a full-scale regional war involving Syria, Iran and Lebanon on one side against Israel backed by the United States. A war pitting Hezbollah against Israel was more likely, they said.
If this scenario is borne out and President Obama wavers even an iota in supporting Israel against Hizb’ullah - and by support, I don’t mean pretty speeches, but massive diplomatic pressure and the maintenance of materiel, parts and other supplies - then I am through with him. I will hold my nose and vote for any breathing Republican on the ballot in 2012.
This is not simply about American support for Israel. Failure to support a crucial regional ally against insurgent guerillas and terrorists is a suicidal international relations move for the US. If America will not support Israel against a terrorist organization backed by Iran, then whom will we support? My position here is as much informed by support of Israel as it is by concern about this country’s international diplomatic standing. Through the 1970s, the State Department was ruled by Arabists (most people have forgotten this). I have recently began to wonder whether they have not been gaining influence, again. I have not forgotten Hillary Clinton’s kiss of Suha Arafat, nor BHO’s consultations with Zbigniew Brzezinski at the outset of his campaign.
I hope my concerns are not tested on the ground. It makes me sick to think about Jews trying to defend a tiny sliver of land being attacked for no reason other than to take pressure off of that Syrian butcher of innocents.
