And David Walker left his job, in part because of frustration with the Bush administration and their refusal to accurately portray the budget busting reduction in taxes.

I posted here about Mr. Walker’s concerns at the time he raised them. But no one really cares about these things in America, except to make noise during election cycles.

He was especially concerned about long term implications of Social Security, as well as collapsing state and local finances.

His bottom line is that we operate too much on near term political convenience and not on long term investments for society.

Yeah. And as he said: Medicare is five times the problem as Social Security.
