DPS Officer Receives Bomb Threat after Hacking Leak
Personal e-mail accounts with social security numbers, online dating account details, even pictures of officers’ girlfriends and families were released. All that happened after DPS said it was strengthening its online security.
This appears to be strictly personal email accounts. DPS says its state-owned systems do not appear to compromised —but again we’re seeing officers personal information exposed — names, addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers.
Wednesday, one officer received a bomb threat at his home. The officer’s wife answered the phone and got the threat — DPS swept their home and found nothing.
Another officer had a bogus Facebook page set up in his name.
This latest breach appears to be the work of a group called AntiSec. They targeted the personal email accounts of a dozen officers.
