Gaza flotilla plots next move - World news - Mideast/N. Africa - msnbc.com
However, organizers of the flotilla were trying to maintain momentum with planned protests in Athens in the face of increasing calls for them to scrap their campaign.
I don’t think, given the current state of domestic affairs in Greece, that a few dozen additional protestors are going to make much of an impact. Nor am i convinced that the Greeks, faced with serious fiscal problems, are going to care much about the flotilla’s woes.
Bottom line is that Israel’s blockade of Gaza has been generally acknowledged as legal, so foreign governments are within their rights, and may even be required, to forbid departures from their ports of ships with a stated illegal objective.
