Obama 2012 Campaign Site Boots User-Created Links To Bogus Events
The Obama campaign says that their site wasn’t hacked, but that they eliminated several user-generated pages to non-existent events bashing Obama.
Officials from President Obama’s campaign website today removed an invitation to a non-existent noon event in Washington DC hosted by “Commy Obama.” The jeremiad was posted on the “my.barackobama.com” part of the campaign website – a user-generated site.Fox calls this a hack, but it doesn’t appear to be anything of the sort; users are freely able to post pages, and this one slipped through until it was caught by administrators.“The site was not hacked,” said campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt. “These are user generated sites for supporters – we monitor them for inappropriate content but aren’t able to catch everything right away.”
The bogus event listed 21 “Rules of Politics,” including “Politicians know Americans rely on rumors and conformity for their political opinions.”
