Police: Man captured in Madison had bloody plan to assassinate Obama
To James Vernon McVay, who was arrested Saturday after a police chase on Interstate 90 near Madison, killing 75-year-old Maybelle Schein in South Dakota was the first step in a long-pondered plan to kill President Obama, according to South Dakota court records.
In a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, charging McVay with murder for the death of the hospice nurse Saturday in her Sioux Falls home, McVay told Madison police that he intended to kill somebody in Madison and steal their car, ambush a Madison police officer and take the officer’s guns and kill and steal cars again in Chicago and Indianapolis.
Then he would use a rifle to kill the president.
“I’m going to kill and kill until I get him,” McVay said, according to the complaint.
