Fairfield man indicted by federal grand jury in bomb case
A federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment charging a Fairfield man with malicious use of explosive materials, possession of a destructive device during a crime of violence, and two counts of possession of an unregistered destructive device, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced Thursday.
According the indictment, Daniel Richard Garcia, 30, allegedly detonated a pipe bomb on May 27 causing damage to a car and a Phoenix Drive apartment complex in Fairfield.
Police said they found a second bomb during a June 16 search of Garcia’s house. Two days later, police arrested Garcia after a seven-hour standoff at his Quincey Lane home
