I don't believe in Middle School.

Kids at that age are emotionally immature and hormonally unstable, and in large unsupervised groups turn into Lord of the Flies.

There would have to be a major catastrophe (cancer, death of my husband, end of time and life as we know it) to make me put my kids in there. So far, two have been homeschooled right up into high school. They did fine academically, and had a chance to deal with the changes in their bodies at home, privately.

As a sometime middle school teacher, I cannot agree more.

link to the actual article, dammit!

As it is, your copy/paste doesn't have anything to do with your title :p

(downding is for annoying posting habits, not content)

Alouette, did you write the article at the link? It appears so.

The actual article is in its entirety at her website, and the part she has written on her page here is very relevant to the article linked.

what are the 6 things then? Maybe I'm missing something :p

The actual article is at my blog, and I wrote it.

Downding for being an asstard, as usual.

so seriously then, why did you choose not to link the content your title implies?

Are you really that desperate to drive traffic to your blog?

Because it's appropriate to link an excerpt, especially when the article is rather long.

Are you really that desperate to find fault with everything I do?

Here are the 6 things, for those too lazy to read the entire article:

1. Forced to eat gross food "that's good for you"
2. Going to the dentist
3. Ballet classes
4. Middle School
5. High school sports
6. Not being allowed to have a circumcision

I'm not following this conversation.

The article does list 6 things. It is exactly what the headline here states. It is written by Alouette, so linking it to her website is appropriate, because that's where the full article is. A smaller forward-type except here is fine.

Am I missing something?

re: #10 EmmmieG

short version is I'm not willing to go to her blog, and I was annoyed because the posted article didn't say what the title was about.

I also thought it was written by someone else like she usually does, but was wrong about that because I'm not willing to go to her blog.

She posted her 'list' tho', its basically a nontroversy :p

re: #11 windsagio

Shorter version: You don't like her, and made a bad assumption because of that.
