Which is why I never bought any MP3’s. I must have bought the White Album 3-4 times by now (Vinyl, Cassette, CD, etc). I’m done buying music.

It’s dying out via the evolutionary process for technology, giving way to its successor the iPhone/iPad.

Of course, it helps to engage in a little eugenics as well.

I hope the ipod touch does not go. Because not many people can afford the iphone if one has to buy an expensive data plan. There is always the wi-fi ipad model but it’s also expensive up front and it’s not portable.

I love my ipod touch. It runs all the apps, and I like that it only connects to the internet at my house. That way I don’t waste the oodles of time on it like most iphone owners do.

re: #2 laZardo

gah don’t remind me of that. Apple is evil :p

But you’re right, they’re naturally dying off, the technology has moved on.

I’ve got 2 iPod Classics and a first generation Shuffle (which I won). I’m not going to upgrade to something else because frankly, they’re too expensive. I got my Classics used (I only got the second one because I was running out of room on the first one, so I set one up for personal use and the other for my little business) and they cost less than half what the new ones cost at the time.

re: #1 Killgore Trout

Heh…

I’ve never bought an mp3, and have spent considerable time converting my collection to digital.

But I did get a small mp3 player for everyday use, which I also treat almost like a thumb drive to swap music between my various computers so i can listen to my music across computers.
