And as a bonus the comments are very interesting and positive.
I love this one

I was seven and living in Woolwich when the war started. I was eight when our house was flattened in 1940, my Mother and we three children escaped with our lives. My Father was in the army at the time, never saw him again until five years later. We stayed in dear old London for the rest of the war years dodging bombs, doodlebugs and V1 rockets albeit with some scary near misses. England was a country to be proud of in those days and the English were a proud people, and rightly so. Then came the fifties, and diversity, the rest is history. My heart still bleeds.

Color really seems to add another dimension to old photos.

I remember years back watching on t.v. rare color film of the liberation of one of the concentration camps at the end of the war. It was the most powerful and upsetting thing I have ever seen and I had to force myself to watch it, with tears streaming down my face.

I like seeing stuff like this. The color helps us remember that this wasn’t all too long ago.

Ha, a true Daily Fail reader speaks!
It always amuses me when immigrants to another country tell me my country’s been ruined by immigration.
(I live in England and I’d rather live here now than at any time in the past)
