If it’s anything but an overdose I’ll be shocked.. Her soul was on display every time she performed. I followed her career and loved her voice and her ability to convey the pain, confusion and hurt that was more her life than just songs. She was a “little penny rolling up the walls inside”. People will say what a waste and who cares. Just another fool. Yes. A fragile, beautiful fool. Rest in Peace Amy.

I really am sad about this. Here's a younger, no tat Amy, and this song came around to be her it seems. She just moved me in ways that brought me back to being 12 years old and the promises that hid in the shadows. Damn it. Promise.

As in most smokey torch talent, if you didn't get it, you was never hurt that way. Never fought that fight. Never looked into Pandora's Box. Her voice was pure. Simple. I heard her. I heard Amy. 20 years from now some poor soul will stumble across this and have it smack him so hard. Soul is timeless.

This was a terrible waste. So much talent. She seemed to want to imitate her idols in every way including a tragic death at a young age. Me and Mr. Jones and Back to Black are two of my favorite songs of all time. I wish she had gone to rehab.

She brought me some things others could not. Music has always had a large role in my life and I heard in her voice a part of my life and something else that I cannot fully explain. She just had a feel and a vibe that did it for me. She had soul and kicked me in the head. I appreciate the comments. Thank you all. A lot of folks will just write her off as a loser, and she might be. But what a beautiful loser. Just another singer. Just another song. Brought me a bit of joy and for that I thank her.

This is true. Her music was painfully honest in a lot of ways that I don't want to admit. I don't drink much, if at all, anymore, but her songs were gut wrenching for anyone who's ever gotten anywhere close to the pain she felt.
I'm lucky. I'm not an addict, and dodged the bullet of alcoholism. But I could totally relate to the pain she felt in a lot of her songs. It's a sad loss. She had so much talent, but just couldn't kill her demons.

She was who she was. You can say "That's a drinking song" or just play Tom Waits until you just might get it. To me, a voice was lost. 27 fucking years old and so much older than that.
