Kansas GOP is flat-busted broke…or close to it
Maybe if they focused on jobs instead of closing women’s health clinics they could raise some money.
Kansas Republicans may hold all the big offices….and control the Legislature.
But these days, they are sniffing fumes when it comes to finances.
BECAUSE….They don’t have any.
The executive director of the Kansas GOP, Clay Barker, confirmed for Prime Buzz today that the party’s executive committee this month approved the party borrowing up to $50,000 to meet expenses in coming weeks — if needed.
The party hasn’t borrowed that money yet. But it’s available.
“It’s a safety net,” Barker said.
Public records show that two of the party’s main bank accounts were bone dry — or nearly so, in recent months.
Financial records filed in mid-July show that the party’s federal account is nearly $5,000 underwater. (The exact amount: $4,984).
