Pipe bomb found in Crossgar
A viable pipe bomb has been made safe in Crossgar, Co Down, police have said.
Army technical officers carried out a controlled explosion on the device found on the Drumnaconagher Road on Saturday.
The security alert which lasted most of the day ended late on Saturday night.
Several homes had to be evacuated.
SDLP MP for the area Margaret Ritchie has condemned the attack.
“There is no doubt this was aimed to cause damage and also to kill people”, Ms Ritchie told UTV.
